Clay Pigeons

Think disjointed black comedy. Think out loud funny alternating with gut-grabbing suspense. Think Joaquin Phoenix as a small town guy who has some fucking rotten luck. Think Vince Vaughn as looking damned striking in cowboy gear and a clean shave.

The name of the director escapes me, but the director did a fine job on the movie. It's more than the actors and the plot that makes it worth seeing. The small town atmosphere is admirably captured without going overboard.

The humor is Coen-y.
The first 10 minutes grabs you quickly and doesn't let you go until the very end. I gave it an 8 at imdb. Entertaining piece of work. The soundtrack is pretty good too. The first song sounds almost identical to a 500 miles from memphis tune.
