A world is created in Apocalypto. A world that is, on the one hand intimate and naturalistic, and haunting and monstrous on the other. The experts can argue about authenticity all they want. As you watch your heart will pump and your flesh will crawl.
Be aware that this is not a movie for youngsters or anyone close to being a youngster.
Watch this movie and examine it sooner or later for its metaphorical similarity to the USA in the now.
